Carla Milarch, Executive Director
In her ten years at Performance Network, Carla has filled many roles including: Actress, Director, Sound Designer, Dramaturg, TreeTown Festival Producer, Development Director, Artistic Director and Executive Artistic Director. She is a member of the Cultural Alliance of Southeast Michigan, the National New Play Network and the Steering Committee for the Michigan Equity Theatre Alliance. Recent projects and accomplishments include adjudicating Cuyahoga County’s Community Partnership for Arts and Culture creative artist fellowship, and accepting the Between the Lines "Angel" award for outstanding contributions to the LGBT community on behalf of Performance Network. She received her conservatory training at Interlochen Arts Academy and State University of New York – Purchase. Carla lives in Ann Arbor with her husband Phil Powers and son, William Tyrone. Look for her work on stage in April, when she will helm the production of "Little Shop of Horrors" here at the Network.
David Wolber, Artistic Director
David became the Artistic Director in 2007 and is thrilled to work with so many talented artists at Performance Network. At the Network, he has directed The Blonde, The Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead (Best Local Play � AnnArbor.com 2009), Christmas Carol�d, Exits and Entrances, The Clean House, Geoffrey & Jeffrey, A Doll’s House, Language Lessons (Best New Play � Ann Arbor News 2007), The Stillness Between Breaths (Best New Play - Oakland Press), Necessary Targets by Eve Ensler, Tongue of a Bird and The White Rose. As an actor David has performed at the Network in A Life in the Theatre, Take Me Out, The Home Team, The Spirit House, The Maiden’s Prayer and Three Days of Rain (Best Actor - Ann Arbor News, Best Ensemble Award - Oakland Press) among others, as well as A Streetcar Named Desire for Chimera; Never the Sinner, The Caregiver and Taking Sides at JET and The Normal Heart at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland.
Janine Woods, Technical Director
Janine trained as a scenic and lighting designer at UofM and fell into the craft of technical directing because there wasn’t always somebody to build the scenery she had devised. At the Network you’ve seen her design work in Doubt, A Feminine Ending, A Picasso, It Came From Mars and she recently returned to UofM for Uncommon Women & Others.
Chelsea Sadler, Marketing
Chelsea first joined Performance Network as an apprentice in 2006 after graduating from Albion College where she received a BA in theatre, with a minor in psychology. She was bitten by the theatre bug in sixth grade with her portrayal of Molly in a school production of Annie. Here at the Network, Chelsea has been seen in Christmas Carol’d, The Little Dog Laughed (Wilde Award - Best Play with LGBT Themes or Characters), three Fireside Festivals, countless readings and has directed both a Children’s musical and a “Mosh Pit” production. Other directing and acting credits include Trinity House Theatre, Boxfest, Breathe Art Theatre Project, Michigan Theatre Festival, Blackbird Theatre and Play-by-Play. Chelsea enjoys supporting the Michigan theatre community, traveling on a shoe string and Earl Grey tea.
Heather Meixler, Development Associate
Heather Meixler is originally from the Washington, DC area where she worked in development at Germanna Community College (Fredericksburg, VA), the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, DC) and the University of Maryland (College Park, MD). After earning her MLS from Maryland in May 2009, Heather and her husband moved to Ann Arbor. She started at PNT in December 2009 as the Development Associate and is looking forward to meeting and working with PNT supporters.
Becky Fox, Children's Theatre Director
Becky has been the director of CTN since 1991, and continues because there is nothing like an audience full of children. She graduated from EMU with a degree in theatre a long time ago, did summer stock and dinner theatre until marrying a restaurant owner (The Full House in Ypsilanti). She and her husband have a darling daughter and are always busy.
